Week 1 - Bed time for the crew!
A quick overview of what I have accomplished this past week.
Monday
- Implemented a Day/Hour tracking system that displays in the upper right corner of the UI.
- Drafted and successfully tested code that would send a squad to a different part of the map at a certain time.
Still haven't settled on how long an in-game day will last. I like the timing of games like Stardew Valley but we will have to see as I start to add content.
Tuesday
- Created Facebook Page
Thanks for liking!
Wednesday
- Added "bed-times" in different shifts for all crew members.
- Changed the time-base movement commands to be per crew member instead of per squad
Essentially I just fiddled with the time-based commands and successfully made my full roster (approx 40ish Crew Members) go to "bed" in specific parts of my test map and in 3 different "shifts." They would walk from the main room to an assigned "bed room" in different
rooms. Then at another time, they "wake-up" and go back to the main room/giant mosh pit. Check out the gif to see it in action!
